Change in circumstances

Are you moving house, changing your bank details, name or partnership status or is someone else looking after your affairs?

Change of address or bank details

It is very important that you inform the Pension Payroll Office immediately, by way of a *signed letter, should you change your address or bank details to ensure you continue to receive payment of your pension without any problems.

To guarantee that your new details are correct and actioned on time, changes must be notified and received in the Payroll Office three weeks before the relevant pension pay day. Failure to send notification by way of a *signed letter, for a change of bank details is likely to result in your pension payments being suspended until such time as your signed letter detailing the change(s) has been received.

Name or partnership status changes

It is also important that you inform the Pensions team, by way of a *signed letter, should there be any change to your name and/or partnership status, this will ensure that you continue to receive payment of your pension without any problems.

Lasting Power of Attorney

Finally, if a pensioner is no longer able to look after their own affairs, a Lasting Power of Attorney may put in place. There are two types:

  • Finance and Property; and
  • Health and Welfare.

We need a copy of an approved Finance and Property Lasting Power of Attorney to deal with someone other that the pensioner in our Fund. If one exists, please send a copy to us so we can add it to the pensioner's record.

Further information on Lasting Power of Attorney can be found on the gov.uk website .

* A signed letter, which must include your pension and national insurance number, can be submitted to the pension payroll office in one of the following ways:

By post: Business Service Centre, Gloucestershire County Council, Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2TG

By email: as a scanned e-mail attachment to: bscpensionspayroll@gloucestershire.gov.uk

Please remember to also inform HMRC of your change of address - failure to do so could result in Gloucestershire Pension Fund not being notified of future tax code changes for you.
